Another average quarterback had his Heisman game against the Oklahoma defense last Saturday afternoon.
Oklahoma State’s Taylor “Corndog” Cornelius came within a three yard pass completion of upsetting the 21 point favorite Sooners on their home field. And he really shouldn’t have been put in the position to have to convert a 2 point try.
The osu kicker missed an extra point earlier that as it turns out would have basically sealed the victory. Corncob shredded the Sooner secondary for over 500 yards passing on the way to a Bedlam series record.
Again, it comes as no surprise. Corn Hole is just another in a string of average quarterbacks to light up the OU defense like a Christmas tree. And make no mistake; Cornbread is a very average quarterback.
The pokes once again get SOOOO close to beating the Sooners, only to fall on their faces in a most Aggie way

But when you rush three and let someone stand there surveying the field for 10 minutes, that kid from the movie Lucas would be able to find an open man.
When osu had the 4th and 12 on their last drive to try and tie the game and Creamed Corn dropped back and I saw OU rush three? I literally turned to the guy next to me and said “touchdown” before he threw the ball.
You just knew it would happen.
I was shocked when they missed the two point try. Wallace was open. But that’s a tough throw for an average quarterback. And again, Cornstalk is a very average quarterback.
So I blame that one on Gundy. That’s not a throw you ask an average QB to make with the game on the line. Had they just spread out the field with 4 wide outs and handed the ball to Hubbard, he would have converted.
Oh well. You take the win and move on. Not much more to discuss about that game.
Mainly because I can’t think of anymore Corn references.
I will say this though. I wanted to win that game by 50 points. Heck I want to win all the games by 50 points. But my brother told me this was even better. The pokes once again get SOOOO close to beating the Sooners, only to fall on their faces in a most Aggie way.
Just little brother being little brother. As we used to chant in the old days….POOOOOOR AAAAGGIES…
Moving forward the Sooners take on the Kansas Jayhawks this Saturday night at Owen Field in what might be a nasty weather game.
Kansas is not terrible anymore. I would upgrade them to just bad. Heck, they beat TCU. However, TCU is pretty bad themselves this year.
Only thing that might keep the Sooners from just running these guys out of the stadium is the weather, but it should still be an easy victory.
So the Worry Meter is only at 15% this week. Morgantown looms…. With all that being said….BOOMER!!!
