K-State game will be closer than we want
I really think the Oklahoma defense showed signs of improvement against TCU last Saturday.
And that is all we can really hope for each week. Signs of improvement.
After a flurry of points in the second quarter that brought TCU back to within 4 of the Sooners when they were down 21, the OU defense only gave up 3 more points in the second half.
And the offense did what the offense does. They dropped 52 against the statistically best defense in the Big 12. The offense can only stop themselves.
The Wildcats will play keep away — much like Army did…

Crazy to think that this offense might be better than last year’s offense, but they are making a strong case. Only bad part of Saturday was Sermon going down. Kennedy Brooks is good and had a great day, but our running back depth has taken a big hit this year.
Hopefully Sermon will be ok and is back sooner rather than later. Unfortunately I don’t think he will play in this week’s homecoming game against the Kansas State Wildcats.
This game concerns me. K-State is coming off a bye week and before that a big win against the okie pokies. In that contest they dominated the time of possession and the run game. That’s what they will try to do against the Sooners. Play keep away with our offense. Much like Army did.
KSU can’t pass the ball so the defense is going to have to win the battle against the run. That includes the K-State QB who will be able to gain yards with his feet. He’s no Kyler Murray, but he can run the ball well enough to keep the chains moving.
And the Wildcats, as usual, will not make mistakes and will play tough the whole game.
As such the Worry Meter is at 65% this week. The offense should score almost every time they get the ball. But will they get the ball enough? I think in the end they will.
But this game may be a lot closer than we want it to be. With all that being said….BOOMER!!!
