Not much to be said about the Kansas game. The Sooners took care of business as they were expected to do.
Unfortunately they couldn’t keep away from the injury bug as Alvarez went down and is doubtful for the Iowa State game. Zanchez is also listed as doubtful for Saturday.
However Stoops said that Bond and Evans have a good chance to play against the Cyclones. But why not rest them against Iowa State to make sure they are ready for Baylor? We shouldn’t need any of them to take care of the Clones.
And this is where I might stray from some of the talking heads about Saturday night’s game at Owen Field. After Iowa State shut out texas 24-0 this past Saturday, everyone started to talk about how the Sooners need to be weary of Iowa State. They are a good team that beat texas and after all, the longhorns beat OU. So the Sooners are going to have a fight on their hands? Bull.
If the Sooners don’t beat them by at least 21 points I will be disappointed. They are not a good team. Usually you are what your record says you are. They are 3-5 with wins over Northern Iowa, Kansas and texas.
The Sooners should roll against Iowa State and it should not be close. Especially with it being a home game and everything that is left at stake.

But Dave, you say, they beat texas 24-0 and texas beat OU. Yes, that is very true. But texas is a terrible team! And I still don’t understand how the Sooners lost to them. I can’t explain it. No one can. And it’s been that way for three years in a row.
The longhorns had no business winning the last two out of three against OU, but for some inexplicable reason they did. You can’t compare scores. Doesn’t work that way. The Sooners should roll against Iowa State and it should not be close. Especially with it being a home game and everything that is left at stake.
If OU wins out, they are Big 12 Champions and in the final four. So that’s why the Worry Meter is at a comfortable 10% this week.
No, my friends. If the Sooners lose any more games this year, which of course is very possible, it won’t be against the Iowa State Cyclones. With all that being said…BOOMER!!!
