Sportswriters put Oklahoma at No. 19 in the Associated Press’ annual preseason Top 25 released Sunday.
The ranking is the Sooners’ lowest preseason AP standing since 2000, when OU also checked in at No. 19 to begin the second season of the Bob Stoops era.
While landing two teams in the top five, the Big 12 only boasts three schools on the preseason list. The SEC leads all conferences with eight teams, followed by the PAC-12 (6). The Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC landed three a piece.
Ohio State is the first team to become a unanimous preseason first pick in the history of the AP Top 25.
