Junior linebacker Austin Box could be out three to six weeks with a back injury that flared up during the weekend.
The injury, called a “disc issue,” was not related to a hit, according to a team spokesman on Tuesday.
Box could be out of the first two or three games, depending on recovery time.
Redshirt freshman linebacker Tom Wort, who was competing with Box for the starting position, will likely fill in during Box’s absence.
