The win over Tech was not a surprise. If you looked at their undefeated schedule up to that point it showed why people jumped on the Red Raider wagon too soon. Some close wins over bad teams.
And the beating that the pokies gave them in Lubbock Saturday further proved that Tech is the same team it always has been. They can throw up some points, but they can’t stop anyone with a half way decent offense.
That being said, it was nice to see Bell deliver a long ball and some great third down completions. He’s getting better.
Unfortunately, I don’t think it will be good enough this Thursday night in Waco. Baylor is a whole different animal.
Outside of a 10 point win in Manhattan against the Wildcats, Baylor has won by at least 30 points in every other game and has scored 70 points four times. (Where’s old Mike Lupica now?).
You could say that just like Tech, they haven’t played anyone on their way to a 7-0 record. But whereas Tech had some close calls against bad teams in going 7-0, Baylor did what they were supposed to do against bad teams in going undefeated. Blow the doors off ’em.

The Bears just have too much offense for the Sooners this time around. If Petty isn’t carving up the secondary, Seastrunk is killing you on the ground.
This would be a tough win on Owen Field with a healthy Corey Nelson, Jordan Phillips and Trey Millard. But to have to play the game without three of your star players, in Waco, on a Thursday night? I just don’t see how the Sooners pull this one out.
Of course that’s why they play the game and I will gladly eat crow if Oklahoma wins. But for now the Worry Meter is redlined at 100%.
With all that being said….BOOMER!!! — Dave
P.S. Am I the only one that thinks Baylor’s recent gridiron success over the past few years smells just a little fishy? Maybe I’m just being cynical…
