The Sooners will be wearing a gold-trimmed jersey in their game against the Longhorns on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl.

Coach Bob Stoops announced the uniform alteration at his press conference on Monday. The gold is in recognition of the OU-Texas game being played for the Golden Hat Trophy. This will be the 108th gridiron meeting the two schools.

The uniform change got an immediate reaction from Sooners players.

“This is the most excitement I’ve ever seen in this locker room! This gold has everybody acting like it’s Christmas morning,” Center Gabe Ikard posted on his Twitter.
