Hunter’s Blog: Who ranks these teams?

The Coaches poll came out early. Here is what I think about some of these rankings:

Alabama No. 1 — Sure, I put them No. 1 too. That’s because they won it last year and you might as well start them there. They are good. They lost some defensive players, but Mark Ingram (Heisman and 1,658 yards last year) is still there.

Ohio State No. 2 — I really don’t care about them.

Texas No. 4 — They will be really good again. But I would put them at a tie with Oklahoma at No. 5.

Boise State No. 5 — I don’t really hear about them a lot. I would put them down at No. 9. Who do they play?

Virginia Tech No. 6 — You have to put somebody in there from the East. Let’s put them at No. 10.

Oklahoma No. 8 — That’s not a bad place to start. But I have them tied with Texas at No. 5. Landry will have a better year.

Nebraska No. 9 — They are waaaaay over-rated. When they start conference play, meaning when they play somebody besides the North Division teams, they’ll drop right out. No offense.

Penn State No. 14 — He’s not dead yet?

Florida State No. 20 — The Sooners play these guys the second game. That should be a fun game. It’s going to rain (take that, Gary England).

TCU, Iowa, Oregon — I have no opinion.
