I was really disappointed in the win over Baylor last Saturday.
Can’t believe we had to recover an onside kick at the end of the game before the win was in hand. The offense and the defense were equally to blame in this stinker. Oklahoma’s defense figured out how to stop the Baylor passing attack that scorched them last year in Waco by instead giving up nearly 300 yards in rushing. The offense scored a lackluster 42 points. That sounds like alot. But this was against the worst defense in Division 1 football.
We should have easily been in the 50s and truth be told the 60’s should not have been unexpected. It should be an embarrassment that we actually had to punt in that game. Just an uninspired effort all around.
They had better snap out of it before they head to West Virginia or the Mountaineers are going to eat their lunch. In a way playing Holgorsen’s crew will be very similar to the game they just played. Potent offense, horrid defense.
But this time it’s on the road in prime time in OU’s very first visit to Morgantown. You think that West Virginia and their fans might be a little geeked up? Add to that the fact that the Mountaineers are desperate to stop a four game losing streak and the worry meter is spiking at 90% this week.
OU always gets an opponent’s best shot because they are OU. This week will be no different.
We will see if the Sooners come out with a little more fire than last Saturday. If not, then couches will burn again in Morgantown. With all that being said…BOOMER!!
