In last week’s Worry Meter I said that I wished for another Sooner blow out, but did not at all expect one. Boy was I wrong, and I love it!
What a great game to add to an increasingly long list of magnificent performances against Texas Sucks. 63-14, 65-13, 55-17, 63-21…It’s just so pretty.
By the way, did anyone else notice Mack taking alot of notes during Saturday’s game? Particularly after OU touchdowns? I have never really seen any other head coach do that to such an extent, and I was very curious as to what he was writing.
Well ask and you shall receive. The founders of Soonerguys.com, wielding great power and influence, obtained Mack’s notebook for my perusal. (They just asked that I not reveal how they were able to procure such a valuable object from enemy hands…although I can say that Mike had several fresh scars and a noticeable limp when I saw him last. Anything for the team. Thanks Mike!)
So here for your consideration are the Top Ten Notes Mack Brown wrote down during the OU v. Texas game:
10. Take Bob Stoops off Xmas card list.
9. Ask officials to keep play clock running during the second half.
8. Return Playstation 3 and NCAA 2012 game to Wal-Mart. The plays didn’t work!!!
7. Maybe Xbox?
6. Get 2005 Title ring from safe, make sure to wear it around media and DeLoss this week.
5. That reminds me…Note to self: call lawyer. Ask when I can stop monthly payments to V. Young. Aren’t I paid up yet? Does the NCAA even investigate 7 years back?
4. Eggs, milk, bread, cat litter….CRAP!! THEY SCORED AGAIN?!?!
3. Cash most recent pay check as soon as game is over.
2. There’s no place like home…there’s no place like home…there’s no place like home…
And the number 1 note taken by Mack during Saturday’s game….Is it too late for me to go to Law School??
Of course I’m joking. I love Mack and look forward to him coaching the Shorthorns for many more years to come. In fact, as Mack may be feeling some heat in Austin, please take some time this week and call the UT Athletic Director’s office at 512-471-5757 and voice your full throated support of Mack Brown and the job he is doing with the football program.
Be sure to let DeLoss know that Mack deserves a contract extension and a big raise. Tell ’em Dave sent ya.
Anyway, on to Kansas. Charlie Weis brings his 1-5 Jayhawks to Norman this Saturday in what looks like a classic trap game. OU just put a spanking on its’ biggest rival and Notre Dame comes to town on October 27 in what will be the biggest non-conference game of the Stoops era.
On top of that, even though Kansas is 1-5, they have hung with teams early and had a shot to beat the Cowpukes last Saturday in Lawrence.
However I don’t see this one being that close. Kansas may indeed hang around for a while, but the Sooners have too much firepower. Add to that the fact the OU is 13-0 under Stoops after the Tuck Fexas game and the Worry Meter is only at 10% this week.
With all that being said….BOOMER!!!
