The game against FAMU did little to resolve my concerns with the Sooners so far this year. I know the scoreboard says we destroyed an outmanned team as we should have. But there were still issues.
The long passing touchdown the Sooners gave up. Landry throwing what should have been 2 picks against an inferior defense. And maybe the most concerning of all, Tony Jefferson going down with an injury.
So I guess it’s a good thing we had a bye week last Saturday, because this (bleep) is about to get real.
K-State comes to town with a potent offense and a scary good quarterback. Used to be you only had to worry about Klein running the ball. But have you noticed that he has completed over 70% of his passes this year? I sure hope the Stoops brothers have noticed.
And, if that were not enough to get your attention, the coach standing on the other sideline should.
Snyder has always played OU tough even with subpar teams. The aberration being last year’s blow out loss to the Sooners in the little apple.
My boss was at that game and he told me that the KSU fans were absolutely convinced they were going to hand us our hat that day. To tell the truth, so was I.
Coming off the debacle against Tech, I didn’t think we would come out of Manhattan with a win, much less a blow out. But as they say that’s why they play the game.
So the worry meter is standing at 75% this week. I take some solice in last season’s game. But then my boss had to go and remind me that for whatever reason Snyder’s teams play us much closer in Norman than in Manhattan. Thanks boss.
With all that being said…BOOMER!!
