The NCAA sanctions against Penn State were directed against the football program. Other programs, such as basketball, had nothing to do with any criminal activity that occurred on campus.
But, the effect the scandal and the punishment handed down by NCAA President Mark Emmert will necessarily impact the roundball program at Penn State University. The first thing one thinks of when the Penn State logo is seen — even on the shirt of a basketball coach — is this Penn State scandal.
