Dave’s Worry Meter ‘red-lining’ for FSU

by

Well the big game is almost here.  And the worry meter is spiking at 100%.

For those that know me this is no surprise.  I just can’t get over our road woes the past several years.  I realize we have won our last 4 games away from Owen Field which have included 2 true road games and 2 neutral fields.  But look closer at those wins.

The first one was Baylor.  Baylor.  OU has never lost to Baylor.  The second win was OSU.  OU has only lost to OSU 16 times in the history of the series while winning the other  82, along with 7 ties.  And of the past 6 wins OSU has dating back to 1976, 4 of them were in Norman.  So even when OSU wins, odds are it’s not in Stillwater.

The third win was Nebraska in the Big XII title game.  Stoops is 7-1 in Big XII title games.  Enough said.

And finally, the fourth win was UConn in the Fiesta Bowl.  A nice win, but really…UConn?

Don’t get me wrong, I would still be worried about this game if it were in Norman, but not near as much.  We don’t lose in Norman.  Add to the road thing the FSU (Free Shoes University) revenge factor, Game Day and Stoops v. Stoops and the worry meter is red-lining this week.

Hope I’m wrong and we blister them like last year.  We shall see.  With all that being said….BOOMER!!!

  1. Dave,

I am cautiously optimistic about this game. We have some injuries on our offensive line and may be playing some 2nd and 3rd stringers at tackle. If these offensive lineman can rise up to the occasion and protect Landry then we will be in good shape. However, Landry will have to be on and this is a big game for him so a lot of pressure. As for our defense if our linebackers fill the holes then we should keep FSU from scoring less than 14 points and if Landry and the offensive line holds up then we could score at least 28 points for the win.

With that much said Dave….I think your worry meter should be at 500% for your baseball team the LA Dodgers. Your worry meter is 500% and your team’s record is less than 500% with a record of 72 wins and 75 losses for a percentage of 490%. Not good. It’s mid-September and they are 14 games back from the division leaders. I’ll give a little credit that they did go 5-5 in their last 10 games but again that is only 500%. That isn’t going to cut it.

Dave….I’m only trying to help you release the stress of being a Dodger fan by showing you the real numbers and for you to cut your ties to the Dodgers and let them float off into the abyss.

    Your friend, Yancey
