OU football is almost here and Thank God! Have you tried watching NFL exhibition? Had we had any luck at all the lockout would have lasted long enough to wipe out the pre-season entirely. Anyway, we are finally on the brink of Sooner football and along with that will come an active worry meter with each game.
However, since there will be plenty to worry about when the season starts, I have decided to begin this year by sharing with you my top 5 things I am NOT worried about going into the upcoming football campaign.
Number 5. I am not worried about the Sooner uniforms. I am comforted by the fact that our boys will take the field in the crimson and cream, with the familiar crimson helmet adorned by a white interlocking O and U on each side. They are steeped in tradition and class. Unlike our friends to the north. Have you seen all the possible color combinations they will have? It’s like Halloween threw up all over them.
Number 4. I am not worried about our starting quarterback. Unlike our friends to the south. Note to Mack Brown: Please start Garrett Gilbert… Please start Garrett Gilbert… Please start Garrett Gilbert…
Number 3. I am not worried about pre game festivities. My friends run Billygate, the best tailgate going.
Number 2. I am not worried about having to forfeit one of our National titles. It is coming Auburn. Just wait. It took 6 years before USC had to give it up, but it is coming.
Number 1. And finally, I am not worried about Texas A&M leaving the Big 12. Note to Texas A&M: JUST F%$#ING LEAVE ALREADY! IM TIRED OF LISTENING TO YOUR CONSTANT WHINING! WE DON’T CARE! YOU HAVEN’T WON A CONFERENCE TITLE IN OVER 12 YEARS! YOU HAVEN’T EVEN SNIFFED ONE! GOOD LUCK IN THE SEC NEVER WINNING A CONFERENCE TITLE AGAIN!
Wow. That felt pretty good. So with all that being said…BOOMER!
