Mizzou lineman hurts knee

by

Missourioffensive tackle Elvis Fisher left practice on Aug. 15 with what coach Gary Pinkel termed at the time “a serious knee injury.”

He was injured in a 1-on-1 passing drill and engaged with defensive end Michael Sam.

The co-captain clutched his knee and writhed in pain while trainers helped him indoors. Fisher was honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2009 and 2010. He has made 40 straight starts.

Without Fisher, the Tigers would lean on versatile backup Justin Britt, a redshirt sophomore, or redshirt freshman Anthony Gatti at left tackle.
