Earlier this morning, I posted this blog, linking to comments that were coming from Norman, Okla. about the impending game Sept. 17 between the Sooners and Florida State Seminoles. We all know the implications of the contest, and how much will be on the line when the teams tee off under the lights inside Doak Campbell Stadium here in Tallahassee.
That said, it appears the game has generated it’s share of buzz in Norman. It also has in Tallahassee, naturally, but so far, very little has gotten out of the FSU locker room aside from the run-of-the-mill “we’re motivated by last year’s loss” kind of deal.
On the practice fields, the only Oklahoma-related preseason chatter came on the first day, when one player shouted “I bet Oklahoma is practicing now!” as the Seminoles walked back into the Moore Athletics Center in order to dodge a lightning bolts, during what became a 45-minute delay. Two practices have been delayed because of afternoon lightning showers popping up nearby…
