Porous Mountaineers defense should have Lebby and the offense licking their chops.
Baylor is not a good team. Oklahoma had the talent to beat them. Especially at home.
But three turnovers, another turnover on downs and stupid penalties….Even still the Sooners scored 35 points. There are some who would tell you that scoring 35 points should be enough to win a game. And it probably should. But what Oklahoma fan in the past several years could with a straight face say they would take 35 points and feel comfortable that the Sooners were going to win a game?
They might have put up 50 had they been able to hold onto to the ball and played smarter.
As it was, the Bears capitalized on OU’s mistakes and beat the Sooners for the second year in a row.
That chance for an elusive sixth win for bowl eligibility will have to wait until this Saturday morning as OU travels to Morgantown to face the West Virginia Mountaineers in an 11am kickoff.
Not really sure what to think about West Virginia. They’ve only won three games this year, but beat the aforementioned Bears and took undefeated TCU to the fourth quarter.
Whereas Baylor ran the ball down the Sooners throat, (because our defensive line couldn’t stop a running nose right now) the Mountaineers will be more balanced and will lean more on the passing game.
Our back end will have to hold up as we have not been able to get any kind of pressure on the quarterback this year.
So West Virginia is going to score some points.
However, if there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it’s the fact that the Mountaineers have given up more points per game than any other team in the Big 12.
This all adds up to another tight one this weekend — Dave
This should have Lebby and the offense licking their chops. That is if they can hold onto the ball.
This all adds up to another tight one this weekend that has the Worry Meter spiking again at 95%.
The Sooners have more talent and are perfectly capable of outscoring West Virginia.
But they have to take care of the ball and play smart to do it. With all that being said…BOOMER!!!
