Kansas’ backup QB could give Sooners fits
Now I guess we know how it felt to be texas fans when OU was handing them 65-13 and 63-14 beat downs.
But at the very least we can take solace in the fact that we are NOT, in fact, actual texas fans.
I can’t imagine… It’s pretty thin times for Oklahoma Football right now. In some ways historically thin.
But I am sure you have heard all the stats and streaks that have been broken or started during the last three games. No real need to re-hash it all here. There’s no sugar coating it. We are just a bad football team right now.
I do think that Brent, given time, will get it turned around. It just depends on if Joe C. will give him that time. I mean John Blake got three years.
Joe will … give Brent the time he needs. However there needs to be visible improvement pretty quickly.
But that was almost 25 years ago. College football is much different now. The money is fatter and the patience is thinner.
I think Joe will do the right thing and give Brent the time he needs. However there needs to be visible improvement pretty quickly. Like this year.
It was hard to take that we couldn’t score any points against texas. I understand that we were without our starting quarterback. But injuries happen. The inability to be at least competitive with the talent we do still have on the team is concerning.
Is our back-up quarterback situation that bad, or did Lebby fail to play to his strengths and put him in plays he was comfortable with?
Whatever the case may be, I sure hope Gabriel is back soon. Because don’t look now but the 5-1 Kansas Jayhawks are coming to town to try and beat the Sooners for the first time in 25 years.
Kansas took the Sooners to the brink last year in Lawrence and they have only gotten better since then.
The Jayhawks will be taking the field with their back up QB Jason Bean, but that is not good news for the Sooners.
He is the same player that almost beat Oklahoma last year. He was beat out for the starting position going into this season, but due to injury he is back under center. And he is a baller.
Bean threw for 250 yards against OU last season and tacked on another 60 yards rushing. And after taking over for starting QB Jalon Daniels a week ago, he proceeded to throw for four touchdowns against TCU, eventually losing 38-31.
A passing and mobile quarterback. This shouldn’t be tough at all.
I’m not sure why the line has the Sooners favored by nine.
I’m not sure the Sooners should be favored at all in this game. Not after what we have seen the last three weeks.
So the Worry Meter stays at 100%. John Blake was the last OU head coach to lose a football game to Kansas. Let that sink in for a minute.
With all that being said…BOOMER!!!
