Watch out for Mizzou. This is one of those teams that have been recruiting well in recent years, but come flying under the radar. OK, not fast, but still flying nonetheless.
QB Blaine Gabbert’s ankle sprain is healed so he should play better. Gabbert’s a stronger thrower than Chase Daniels was and will be an NFL prospect. But, he will have to learn to throw to secondary receivers, instead of focusing on one like he did last year with WR Danario Alexander (who has since graduated). The big plus for the Tigers is they are returning 15 starters, including most of the offensive line. Sooner fans can attest to how important a healthy and experienced offensive line can be.
Wide receiver Danario Alexander is the guy to watch. Wide receiver has not been a shining point for Missouri of late, so much of their success (or not) may depend on his play.
Defense will be decent, but Missouri will be an offense-oriented team and will need to outscore people to beat them.
GAME: Oklahoma at Missouri, Columbia, Mo. — October 23. TBA.
