Dave: Few worries this week — Sooners on a roll

by

It’s all coming together.

The Sooners rolled into Lubbock on Halloween night and went Michael Myers all over the Red Raiders like they were a bunch of promiscuous teenagers partying behind their parent’s backs.

The final tally was 62-28, and it wasn’t that close with Tech scoring two junk touchdowns in the fourth quarter against Sooner back ups.

Joining the fun after being back from their six game suspensions were Rhamondre Stevenson and Ronnie Perkins. And did they make up for lost time. Stevenson finished the night with 87 yards on 13 carries and 3 touchdowns and was named co Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.

He looked like a man among boys on that field. He’s so big and muscular. Six feet and 246 pounds coming at you. He always falls forward for like three more yards when finally being tackled. Marshawn Lynch comes to mind.

He is the Sooner’s Beast Mode.

This is exactly what Riley needed. The threat of a great running game to open up the entire offense.

And Ronnie Perkins was no slouch on the defensive side of the ball with three solo tackles including two for a loss and a quarterback hurry. His addition makes an already improved defensive line that much better.

“Yes, Oklahoma took another big step forward…” — Dave

Yes, Oklahoma took another big step forward Saturday night and they look to improve even more this weekend when Lester Pester and his Kansas Jayhawks come to Norman for OU’s first home game in 42 days.

This is Les Miles first trip to Owen Field since 2003 when he brought the Okie Pokies to Norman as their head coach.

That day he told the sideline reporter that he was gonna have his team “Let ‘er Rip” against the Sooners. As it turned out, that didn’t work to well for the mad hatter as his pokes were the ones being ripped by the score of 52-9.

That will probably be close to the final margin again as the Jayhawks are winless this year and probably already looking forward to basketball season.

Unless the Sooners do something stupid like turn the ball over 4 or 5 times, this will be a route.

So the Worry Meter is only at 5% this week. Take care of business and keep moving forward to what might be another Big 12 Title shot.

With all that being said…BOOMER!!!
