Possibly the only thing that went wrong last Saturday would be the unexpected tumble the Sooner Schooner took on one of its traditional rides after an Oklahoma touchdown.
Glad that everyone and the ponies are ok. Did you see how much crap fell out of the Schooner when it tipped over? Do they live in that thing?
The game was pretty uneventful. West Virginia hung in for a few quarters with the halftime score being 28-14. But the dam broke in the third quarter and the route was on.
We also saw just why Austin Kendall isn’t the starting quarterback at Oklahoma. He’s a good QB, just not Oklahoma good.
It’s going to be strange to look across the field and not see the venerable Bill Snyder roaming the sidelines in an old KSU Alamo Bowl windbreaker

Moving on, the Sooners look to extend their true road game winning streak against the Kansas State Wildcats in yet another 11:00a.m. kick-off.
It’s going to be strange to look across the field and not see the venerable Bill Snyder roaming the sidelines in an old KSU Alamo Bowl windbreaker. Couldn’t someone from the athletic department have given him some updated swag?
The new coach, Chris Klieman, was a solid choice to replace Snyder, who held on as long as he could, trying to convince the school to hire his son.
Klieman won multiple Division 1 FCS National Championships at North Dakota State. He is a defensive coach which fits right in with the K-State culture. He has the Cats 4-2 this season including rolling into Starkville and beating Mississippi State.
But as has been the case with K-State since Collin Klein graduated in 2012, they really don’t have a solid quarterback. And in today’s game, quarterbacks make or break you.
So while the game might be close for a while, the Sooners really should win this one comfortably.
That of course is what has me worried.
We all know OU gets everyone’s best shot. If we get careless with the ball or make too many stupid mistakes, this one could turn the wrong way. The Little Apple is not an easy place to play if you get down early.
Two years ago in Manhattan, OU was down 21-10 at halftime and Baker had to come up with a last minute drive to win the game.
As such the Worry Meter is at 70% this week. It’s kind of a cliché’ to say that every game from here on out is a playoff game. But every game from here on out is a playoff game. With all that being said…BOOMER!!! — Dave
so very true re: this week at KSU. Everyone that plays OU brings their A+ game. . .but would still like to bring more really good competition to the Big 12
