HUNTER'S Big 12 Review | |||||
My picks | |||||
Here's the way I see the conference: North Division 1. Nebraska. They got that Arizona State transfer Sam Keller. He is a pretty good quarterback with a strong arm. They will win a lot and have a good chance against USC on September 15. The defense is the strength of the team. I give them a B+. 2. Kansas State. They played Texas good last year -- winning that game. They have a good quarterback in Josh Freeman (a big guy, at 6-5, 250). 3. Missouri. Chase Daniels threw for more than 3,000 yards last year. He's good. Their defense is their question mark. 4. Iowa State. I don't know a lot about them. They have a scrambling quarterback named Meyer. He has decent speed. Other than that I don't know anything about them. 5. Kansas. I know their coach. He takes up the whole sideline. You know when I ask during an OU game, where is Bob Stoops standing? With that Mangini (sic) guy . . . I don't ask that. 6. Colorado. It's not the best place to play. They have one concession stand for the whole side of the stadium. They take forever and they don't have squat. South Division 1. Oklahoma. Duh. 2. Texas A&M. I love that quarterback Stephen McGee. He's really hard to bring down in EA Sports NCAA '08. He can scramble and throw. I think they can come in second place in the South. 3. Texas. I will say nothing about them. 4. Oklahoma State. They have that Bobby Reid guy at QB. He almost beat OU last year. It came down to the last play. They put in a good fight. 5. Texas Tech. They always have a good quarterback. It doesn't matter if it is a freshman or a senior. They pass the ball a lot. They're crazy. 6. Baylor. They always suck.
