Sooners prep for difficult Air Force offense
Saturday will be Military Appreciation Day at Owen Field when the Air Force cadets come to town to play the 7th ranked Oklahoma Sooners.
Certainly, the Sooners appreciate the unique option offense that the Falcons bring — so much so that OU players voluntarily spent their day off Sunday watching film of the AF win over BYU last week.
Air Force’s ball-control ground game harkens back to the Switzer days of the triple-option. The Falcons rolled up 409 rushing yards against BYU this past weekend. Their option is difficult to prepare for in a week.
The only offense Air Force will have in the air will be the pre-game four-jet fly over during the National Anthem (here’s hoping those jets don’t have live ammo in case the OU fans confuse “brave” with “Sooners”).
