After the Tulsa game I think we can safely say that the Trevor Knight experiment, barring injury or graduation, is over.
I don’t blame the coaching staff for trying. After Johnny “Hancock” Manziel burst on the scene last year I’m sure many a coaching staff were on the look out for the next mobile waterbug to turn loose on unsuspecting defenses.
However after seeing Knight and Bell in action, it’s hard to believe Knight showed so much more in pre-season as to convince the coaches that he was the one over Bell. Maybe it’s true some players are great in practice but it just doesn’t click on Saturdays. And that’s not to say it wouldn’t eventually click for Knight, but after Bell’s performance, I don’t expect Knight back under center unless Bell goes down or in a special package for one or two plays
Let us put this game in perspective.
