In a season to forget, the pressure this week is on Texas

As if 2020 couldn’t get any worse, we can’t even rely on our Sooners to brighten the landscape this year.

Too young, too inexperienced, too…something.

First loss to Iowa St. in Ames, in 60 years.  First back to back losses since 1999.  I guess if you were going to pick a year to stink while you rebuild, 2020 would be the year.

Saturday night’s game highlighted another glaring issue with the defense, as if another one was needed.

Every year I believe the hype. The defense is going to be better. Even approaching elite status. It’s the speed D! It’s just so speedy! And you know, they are pretty fast.

Several teams across the country, including in the Big 12, have had to reschedule and even cancel games due to the current pandemic. I was surprised that they went ahead and planned to play any season at all this year.

The Pac 12 and Big 10 had cancelled their fall seasons with an eye toward maybe playing in the spring. (Although the Big 10 has since changed course and is now set to start October 24 th .) I assumed that the rest of the Power 5 would follow. But I guess they decided there was too much money involved.
