And, like the saying goes: When it rains it pours.
As a steady drizzle turned into a slow rain, the Sooners poured it on the Golden Hurricane 52-7 in Tulsa.
It was a business-like win for the Sooners. Few penalties. No turnovers. And, most importantly, there was no chance of any upset or close game that might have occurred had Oklahoma been over-looking Tulsa for next week’s SEC opponent, Tennessee.
“We played really smart. We took care of the football, we didn’t have foolish penalties,” OU Coach Bob Stoops said.
Oklahoma (2-0) had 580 total yards of offense, including 261 on the ground. But the defense also shined, forcing four turnovers.
One of those turnovers was linebacker Geneo Grissom’s interception return for a touchdown.
