I know someone who’s about as diehard an OU fan as they come. He’s an Oklahoman. He went to OU. He can cite the score of every OU game. He knows who the Sooners are recruiting. From the top…
The No. 5 Sooners turned to a new-found rushing game, scoring eight of its 10 touchdowns on the ground, in its 69-13 win over Florida A&M in a home opener mis-match.
Oklahoma (2-0) rushed for 349 yards, led by junior college transfer Damien Williams, who rushed for 156 yards on just 10 carries and found the end zone four times. His last carry was for 89 yards.
“When I see daylight, I’m going,” Williams said.
“If someone catches me, I’ll pat them on the head and say good job.”
The Florida A&M defenders were not up to the task, tackling Williams only six times he carried the ball.
“Damien is a strong powerful (running back) with excellent speed. It’s exciting to see him playing the way he is. He looked great out there tonight,” OU coach Bob Stoops said.
